Maintenance advice…
Cotton
Cotton is a natural fabric that can easily be washed. It can withstand high temperatures: even boiling water does not affect its fibres…
Washing: It can therefore be washed at high temperatures and with any detergent. White cottons can be washed with a bleaching agent (bleach or other) to maintain their pearly white tint. Note for white cotton articles we advise you not to mix them with other coloured cotton articles if you wish to use with a bleaching agent…
Drying: After washing, cottons can be dried at high temperatures. As soon as possible dried in the machine or at outside temperature, please fold it as quickly as possible. However, remember that cotton tends to crease easily. Therefore, you should iron it if you do not like wrinkled clothes.
Silk
Silk is a delicate fabric that must be handled with care and delicacy. However, it is fairly easy to wash. It naturally rejects dirt and does not necessarily need to be dry-cleaned to maintain its quality.
Wash: Wash silk clothing gently by hand with very cold water. If you wish to preserve the natural oils of the garment, we advise you to use a very mild detergent such as Purex or Woolite. Rinse the garment with cold water until no soap remains. Add a few drops of conditioner to the rinse water to keep the silk soft and supple.
Drying: Wrap it in a towel and squeeze out the water. Never wring or twist the garment as this will damage the fabric. Hang the wet garment in the open air or in a drying chamber and let it dry completely. Do not hang silk clothes in the sun.
Important notes : Iron only in extreme cases of need. The temperature of the iron must be low, use a wet pad that you place between the iron and the fabric. Unless your garment label recommends it, avoid dry washing, as it shrinks certain types of silk. Tip, when you notice stains; use lemon juice or vinegar to remove isolated stains. However, we advise you to carry out an initial test on a non-visible area in order to observe whether the colour of the garment is resistant or not to liquids. Note the stirring of the wash is the cause of shrinkage. As a precaution, even the gentle cycle of the machine is too strong for this delicate fabric; then we recommend that you even avoid spinning in the machine.
– Silk is a very delicate natural fibre, so do not use bleach as it can damage the fibres.
– Please do not spray perfume or hairspray on the silk; alcohol will damage the fabric.
Spandex/Lycra/Elasthane
Spandex is a synthetic elastic fibre that can be stretched several times its length and regain its original size.
Wash: Machine or hand wash spandex clothing in warm water. Do not use detergent containing bleach on a fabric containing spandex as this may damage your fabric.
Drying: You can air dry or tumble dry at low temperatures.
